Create & apply coupon codes

Updated 2026-09-30 · 2 min read

A coupon is a code that takes a percentage or a fixed amount off. Use it for a promotion, a thank-you or a one-off apology.

Create a coupon#

  1. Go to Coupons and choose New.
  2. Add a Description and one or more Codes, one per line. Letters, numbers, _ and - only; codes are saved in capitals. Generate code makes one for you.
  3. Pick the Discount type (Percentage or Fixed amount) and its value.
  4. Optionally limit it:
    • Total uses and Uses per email,
    • Expires on a date,
    • Applies to specific categories or services (empty means every service),
    • Restrict to emails so only listed clients can use it,
    • Usage scope: appointments only, product sales only, or both.
  5. Make sure Active is on and save.

Once a code has been shared you can't rename it, but you can add new codes to the same coupon or remove an unused one.

Where codes are used#

  • Online: clients enter the code at the payment step on your booking page.
  • On a booking: staff apply a code from the booking, which suggests the codes linked to that client, see Pay off a booking with a coupon or gift card code.
  • At the desk and on invoices: the Promo code field in Retail & POS and in the invoice editor.

Codes created for you#

Some coupons are created by other features: package and gift card codes, deal codes, referral codes and rewards. They appear in Coupons too, but their rules are managed where they come from and are read-only here.

Check usage#

Open a coupon to see Usage: how many times each code was redeemed, by whom and on which booking.
