Workflow: a 30% deposit with a 48-hour cancellation policy

How Beauty Art Pro takes a 30% deposit on every online booking with a clear 48-hour cancellation policy, and how to set up the same rules in Lorenly.

Long treatments make a missed appointment expensive. Beauty Art Pro asks every client to pay part of the price when booking online, and states the cancellation rule before they pay. One default rule covers the whole menu, so there is nothing to maintain service by service.

The setup at Beauty Art Pro

  • A default deposit of 30% of the service price, taken through the studio's own connected payment account.
  • All 80 services follow the default rule, so a new service is covered the moment it is created.
  • The booking page shows the studio's own wording for the balance due, the cancellation terms with a 48-hour window and the payment methods, in each language.
  • Every confirmation email repeats the 48-hour cancellation rule.
  • If a client does not pay the deposit in time, the booking is released, and the Unpaid deposit expiry email follows 15 minutes later.

The rule is shown before payment and repeated in every confirmation.

Set it up in Lorenly

  1. Connect your payment processor.
  2. Go to Settings → Deposit policy and enter the Default deposit as a percentage.
  3. In the Customer-facing deposit copy, write the balance-due line, your cancellation terms with the window in hours and the payment methods line, in each language.
  4. Leave each service's Deposit field on Default rule (%), and only change the services that need a different amount.
  5. In Settings → Templates, turn on the Unpaid deposit expiry email and choose how many minutes after expiry it goes out.

What the client sees

Before paying, the client sees the deposit amount, the balance due at the appointment and your cancellation terms. After paying, the confirmation email repeats the rule. If they leave without paying, the slot is freed for someone else, and a short email invites them to book again.

Every deposit setting is explained in Require a deposit.

Frequently asked questions

Can I take a percentage deposit on every service at once?

Yes. Set the Default deposit in Settings → Deposit policy. Every service on Default rule (%) follows it, including services you add later.

Does Lorenly refund a deposit automatically when a client cancels in time?

No. The cancellation window is shown to clients as your policy. You decide and handle refunds yourself.

What happens when a client never pays the deposit?

The booking waits a short time, then it is cancelled and the slot is released. The Unpaid deposit expiry email can invite the client to book again.
