Arjet Fennema Kindertherapie

About Arjet Fennema Kindertherapie

Arjet Fennema Kindertherapie is a practice for integrative child therapy in ’s-Hertogenbosch. The practice offers short-term psychotherapy to children aged 4 and over and young people, with parent meetings and home support if needed.

Child therapy

Integrative child therapy explores and works through the presenting complaint using different explanatory models, with the unique child at the centre. The therapy matches the child’s way of communicating and needs, and gives them room to work on the complaint themselves.

Approach

First, there is an intake meeting with the parents. At the start, the child has five weekly sessions; after every five sessions, the parents and therapist discuss progress. Therapy ends when the child is ready, often after fewer than fifteen sessions.

The practice offers parent evenings and home support. The preferred form of home support is discussed with the parents.
