Before the first consultation, Christa sent out questionnaires. The first consultation lasted one and a half hours and began with an extensive interview; a follow-up consultation usually lasted an hour.

The orthomolecular approach consisted of dietary advice and, where needed, nutritional supplements. The practice applied insights from fields including neurology, psychology, immunology and evolutionary biology.
