About Stichting Petra

Stichting Petra provides psychological support and advice in Middelburg. The foundation also runs the course “Better coping with trauma effects” for professionals and others who work with people with mental health problems.

Support and activities

The foundation provides psychological support to people affected by trauma. It also supports projects for disadvantaged young people and young people who are homeless, and organises activities to help reduce child abuse.

Course: Better coping with trauma effects

The course covers recognising and understanding trauma effects, and supporting clients and those around them. Module 1 consists of 20 group sessions held at a location; by agreement, the course can be adapted for delivery at an organisation.

Who it is for

The course is intended, among others, for family-home and foster parents, social workers, JGZ (Dutch youth health care) professionals, client support workers, and others who encounter people with mental health problems in their life or work.
