Trauma and PTSS

Praktijk den Uijl specialises in treating trauma and PTSS (post-traumatic stress disorder), including the effects of boundary-crossing behaviour and other forms of feeling unsafe.

Approach

Personal sessions help clarify the issues, followed by a step-by-step plan suited to the situation. Alongside sessions, exercises, homework assignments and group discussions may be used; the process is reviewed and concluded with a final evaluation.

Training and lectures

Each year the practice offers six-day training courses on recognising sexual violence and trauma and their effects. The practice also provides guidance and lectures.

Practical information

Home visits are possible. Telephone hours are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 09.00 to 11.00 uur. Appointments can be cancelled free of charge at least 48 hours in advance.

• Daytime support and counselling: one-hour consultation with three quarters of an hour for discussion and a quarter of an hour for administration
• Evening consultations from 18.00 to 21.00 uur
• Half-hour or quarter-hour consultations

Registrations and reimbursement

The practice lists registrations and memberships with professional associations and affiliation with a complaints committee. Reimbursement from supplementary insurance depends on the plan and policy terms.
