About Aiolos

Aiolos is a youth basic mental health care (jeugd basis-ggz) practice in Leiden. The practice provides psychological advice, help and care to children and young people aged approximately 3 to 18 and their parents.

Assessment and treatment

Aiolos assesses intelligence, learning potential, social and emotional development, behaviour and learning difficulties. The practice uses conversations, tests and observations, and offers treatment, therapy, coaching and training courses.

Assessment process

An assessment consists of an intake meeting, assessment on one or two days, a written report for the parents and child, and a feedback meeting.

Practical information

A referral letter from a Jeugdteam (youth team), GP or medical specialist is required for reimbursement under the Jeugdwet (Youth Act). Appointments must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance.

• Contract with Holland Rijnland
• Reimbursement through municipalities for generalist basic mental health care where a DSM-5 disorder is established or suspected
• Non-reimbursed care and programmes are paid for by the parents themselves or by the school
