About Sterk in Begaafd

Sterk in Begaafd supports parents and families with gifted children in the IJmond region. The support focuses on behaviour, emotions, parenting and connection within the family.

Family support

The support is tailored to each family within four fixed modules. At the end, the support workers create a family compass together with the family.

• Insight & understanding
• Connection & alignment
• Space & growth
• Strong together

Parent evenings

The parent evenings cover giftedness and its effect on the family. Parents and caregivers gain insights and practical tools to use at home.

• What is behind the behaviour?
• Why do we sometimes lose touch with each other?
• Room to be yourself
• When everything comes together

Approach

The introductory meeting preferably takes place at home. Parents complete an intake form beforehand; the team then discusses the support request and tailors the support to the family.

• Conversations with parents
• Introduction or conversation with the child
• Practical tips and tools for parents
