About Meijer Coaching

Meijer Coaching is a coaching practice in Hilversum. The practice supports young people aged 10 to 21 and their parents with questions about school, emotions and behaviour, with special attention to ADHD and autism.

Coaching for young people

The support focuses on what young people find difficult and on their strengths. Practical work is done on skills for home, school and social situations.

• Planning and organising
• Learning how to learn and school skills
• Concentration and motivation for school
• Managing emotions, stress and sensory stimuli
• Self-confidence and social skills
• Structure, overview, and day and night routine
• Screening if ADHD or autism is suspected

Coaching for parents

Parents gain insight into their child’s behaviour and needs, as well as practical guidance for raising them. The coaching looks at the interaction between the child, the family and their surroundings.

• Better understanding and support for your child
• Less discussion or conflict in the family
• Support with the transition to the brugklas (first year of Dutch secondary school)
• Advice on medication such as Ritalin

Approach

The support is tailored to the young person’s request for help, age, interests and needs. In addition to conversations, Meijer Coaching uses practical assignments and tools.

Experience and registrations

David Meijer has worked as a coach and mobile support worker for children and young people since 2005. He cites extensive experience with a range of support needs and knowledge of ADHD and autism.
