Praktijk van Veelen is a practice providing psychological support to children and young people in Helmond. The practice offers consultations, assessments and treatment, involving parents where appropriate.

Assessment

If further assessment is needed, the practice can carry out various assessments. Afterwards, the results are discussed with the parents and, if desired, the child, followed by advice.

Treatment

Treatment may consist of individual sessions, parent sessions and/or family sessions. The practice uses various treatment methods, often integrated into an overall course of treatment.

Registration and approach

Registration is possible with a referral from a GP or specialist, or with a municipal authorisation. Once the completed registration form and referral letter have been received, the child is placed on the waiting list; parents are called to arrange an intake appointment.

• Appointments last 45 minutes and are usually weekly or fortnightly
• For children under 16, written consent from both parents with parental responsibility is required
