About Essential Waves

Essential Waves is Gerphil Kerkhof’s practice in Haarlem for therapy and coaching. The support focuses, among other things, on ADD and burnout, using the Queeste naar Heling (Quest for Healing) as its own approach.

Therapy and coaching

Gerphil Kerkhof developed his own approach to ADD and burnout, based on Zijnsoriëntatie (Being-Oriented Therapy) and Gabor Maté. The practice has been gradually winding down since February 2026; no new programmes are being accepted. It is still possible to request an occasional session.

Queeste naar Heling

The Queeste is an approach grounded in Zijnsoriëntatie (Being-Oriented Therapy), with therapeutic and spiritual elements. The support focuses on personal growth, self-awareness and self-leadership.

About Gerphil Kerkhof

Gerphil Kerkhof has experienced burnout himself and worked in business for more than 30 years, across several sectors and for different employers. During his burnout, he began training as a Zijnsgeoriënteerd therapeut (Being-Oriented Therapist) and received coaching himself.

Gerphil wrote more than 60 articles on topics including ADD, burnout, work and personal growth. The ebook ‘Burn-out, en nu?’ (‘Burnout, what now?’) can be requested free of charge.
