Praktijk-Iben is a practice in Groningen for craniosacral therapy and physiotherapy. Treatments focus on the person as a whole and also include craniosacral therapy for children, jaw physiotherapy and oedema therapy.

Craniosacral therapy is given through gentle touch over clothing. The therapy aims to relax the fascia and can also be used during pregnancy.

Craniosacral therapy

The treatments focus on physical tension and emotions held in the body. The practice lists a range of complaints for which craniosacral therapy may be used.

Craniosacral therapy for children

The practice treats infants, children aged 2 and over, and older children. A session is scheduled for up to an hour and takes place over clothing; treatment may be shorter for young children.

• Infants: including problems during pregnancy, traumatic birth, attachment problems, arching, crying and intestinal problems
• Children aged 2 and over: including restlessness, difficulty falling asleep, tantrums, headaches, toilet training problems and earache
• Older children: including concentration problems, ADHD, headaches, poor sleep, social and emotional problems and orthodontics

About Iben

Iben says that, as a physiotherapist, she noticed that treatments were sometimes focused only on a local area and on symptoms. Her interest shifted towards studies that focus on the person as a whole.
