About MeJa

MeJa is a centre for pregnancy and mental health, with locations in Groningen, Assen, Drachten and Leeuwarden. It provides assessment and treatment for children and adults with psychological and psychiatric complaints related to pregnancy, parenthood and family life.

Treatment

MeJa provides general basic GGZ and specialist GGZ. Treatment is tailored to the request for help and takes place within the framework of basic or specialist GGZ.

Family treatment

In IMH family treatment, the relationship between parent and child is central. This care is intended for families with young children when there are concerns about their bond or development.

Groups and support

MeJa offers group treatment for people with similar complaints, experiences or problems. Outpatient practitioners work at the practice and at other locations, including clients’ homes.

Who it is for

The target group is people with psychological problems related to a wish to have children (whether fulfilled or not), pregnancy or early parenthood. MeJa also provides care to men and young children.

Locations and reimbursement

MeJa has branches in four towns and provides only insured GGZ care under the Zorgverzekeringswet (Dutch Health Insurance Act) and Jeugdwet (Dutch Youth Act). A valid referral and a DSM-5 diagnosis are required.
