About BFT Groningen

BFT Groningen is a pelvic physiotherapy practice in Groningen. The pelvic physiotherapist assesses and treats complaints in the abdomen, lower back, pelvis and pelvic floor.

Pelvic physiotherapy

Treatment starts with assessment and information. Coaching, guidance and treatment may follow.

• Involuntary loss of urine and/or stool
• Urgency to urinate and/or have a bowel movement
• Difficulty urinating or having a bowel movement
• Pressure in the lower abdomen or a ball-like sensation in the vagina or anus
• Pain in the lower abdomen, around the anus or genitals
• Sexual complaints, such as pain during sex and erectile dysfunction
• Pelvic and lower back pain around pregnancy and childbirth
• Pelvic and lower back pain due to other causes
• Support before and after surgery in the abdominal and pelvic area

Fees and conditions

Where possible, BFT Groningen bills the health insurer directly. Appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled free of charge up to 24 hours in advance; missed appointments or appointments cancelled late will be charged.

Reimbursement

Pelvic physiotherapy for urinary incontinence is reimbursed from the basic health insurance with a referral. Other pelvic physiotherapy is reimbursed through supplementary insurance. In 2026, BFT Groningen has contracts only with CZ, CZdirect, NN and OHRA.
