Praktijk voor podotherapie ELSO is based in Enschede and also has locations in Oldenzaal, Almelo and Wierden. The practice treats foot, ankle, knee, hip and back problems and works with other disciplines.

Podiatry

The podiatrists treat problems caused by abnormal foot function or walking patterns. They also treat skin and nail conditions, and the practice provides preventive advice.

The practice is usually based in a medical centre. There, ELSO works with, among others, GPs, physiotherapists, a diabetes nurse and orthopaedic shoe technicians.

The podiatrists completed a four-year hbo (higher professional education) programme. The practice is affiliated with professional associations and registered with the Kwaliteitsregister voor Paramedici (Quality Register for Paramedical Professionals).

Direct access

A referral from a doctor or specialist is not required. At a first visit without a referral, a DTP screening or intake interview takes place; the podiatrist then assesses whether further treatment is possible.
