Splinter GGZ provides mental health care from locations in Den Haag and Rotterdam. Intake and therapy take place entirely online. The practice treats the effects of distressing experiences and trauma.

Treatments

Treatment starts with trauma-focused treatments. Other therapies and digital modules may be used as additional support.

• Self-regulation training: mindfulness, self-management and calm & control
• Medication treatment
• E-health modules for PTSD, improving sleep, low mood, worrying and general wellbeing

Approach

After registration, there is an intake with two meetings and, if the request for help is a good fit, a diagnostic phase. A treatment plan is then drawn up together, and progress is evaluated regularly.

Treatment programmes

The duration is tailored to the request for help and the complexity of the problems. For people with severe PTSD symptoms caused by multiple traumas, an intensive programme is offered several times a year.

• Basic care pathway: 6 months on average
• Medium care pathway: 1 year on average
• Intensive care pathway: 2 years
• Splinter Intensief: two consecutive weeks, three days per week from 09:00 to 17:00
