De Ademboom is the practice of Caroline, a breathing and relaxation therapist in Den Haag. She guides people in exploring and reducing tension in the body, breathing and mind.

Breathing and relaxation therapy

Treatment mainly follows the Van Dixhoorn method and focuses on recognising and regulating tension. Over four sessions, you explore what helps and how symptoms respond; this is followed by an evaluation.

• Simple exercises involving breathing, attention and movement
• Gentle hands-on techniques where needed

Symptoms

The therapy is intended for symptoms related to tension and breathing.

• Tension-related symptoms, such as hyperventilation symptoms, general tension, sleep problems and fatigue
• Functional symptoms, such as back, shoulder or neck problems, RSI, or breathing or voice problems
• Psychological symptoms, such as anxiety or panic attacks
• Tension related to medical conditions, such as post-COVID, asthma, abdominal problems or cardiovascular disease

How it works

The exercises and any hands-on techniques are adapted to the client's abilities and experiences. After the assessment period, it is considered whether symptoms are related to increased tension and whether further treatment is appropriate.
