De Juiste Lijn is a dietetics practice in Arnhem. The practice supports the body’s self-healing ability through nutrition and guides people with nutrition and health questions.

Approach

The practice takes a holistic view of health and considers factors including nutrition, exercise, sleep and stress. Guidance starts with an extensive medical history; an initial consultation lasts about 75 minutes.

Nutrition questions and specialisations

The practice provides guidance for stomach and bowel complaints, nutrition problems and various conditions. Additional tests may also be carried out.

• Stomach complaints and reducing stomach acid medication in consultation with the doctor
• Bowel problems, including irritable bowel syndrome and coeliac disease
• Underweight and malnutrition
• Diabetes, cardiovascular disease and excess weight
• Orthomolecular nutrition and natural nutrition
• Tests for stool, food intolerances, minerals, trace elements and heavy metals at cellular level

Who it is for

The practice guides young people and adults. Children receive guidance for bowel problems, IBS and coeliac disease.

Reimbursement and appointments

The practice has contracts with all health insurers and bills insured dietary advice directly. Appointments can be cancelled by phone or email; if cancelled at least 24 hours in advance, no consultation fee is charged.

• Standard dietary advice is reimbursed for at least three hours per year under the basic health insurance
• Reimbursement under the basic health insurance is subject to the excess, except for children under 18 and for coordinated care
• A referral letter stating that a home visit is advisable is required for a home visit
