About House of Eszence

House of Eszence is a dietetics practice in Amsterdam. The practice supports women and men with eating problems and eating disorders through dietetics sessions and the 1-to-1 Foundation programme.

Dietetics

Support covers eating disorders, weight problems, emotional eating and digestive complaints, among other things. A personal nutrition plan may be part of the treatment when appropriate.

• Anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, NAO (Dutch term for eating disorder not otherwise specified), orthorexia nervosa and binge eating disorder
• Underweight, overweight, obesity and morbid obesity
• Support with weight-loss medication Saxenda, Ozempic or Mounjaro
• Support before and after stomach reduction surgery
• Emotional eating
• Irritable bowel syndrome

Foundation

Foundation is an exclusive 1-to-1 programme with seven evidence-based modules. The content is tailored to the support request, personal goals and relationship with food.

Approach

Dietetics starts with a 75-minute intake. Follow-up conversations focus on the treatment goals; these may be regular dietetics sessions or Foundation sessions.

Practical information

Conversations and sessions are exclusively in Dutch. Dietetics may be covered by the basic health insurance; supplementary insurance may provide extra hours.
