Casa Di Dante is a small Italian language school on Keizersgracht in Amsterdam. The school offers Italian courses at different levels, private lessons and online lessons.

Levels and approach

The school follows the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) criteria. Conversation lessons use practical topics and materials such as newspaper articles, current affairs and films.

• Italian conversation: A2 to C1
• Combined course: from B1
• State exam preparation: level B1-B2, depending on the type of school

About the teacher

Teacher Francesca Maria Verderame is a native speaker and also speaks Dutch. She has more than 20 years of experience in Italian language training.

• Master’s degree in Italian language and literature from UVA Amsterdam
• Master’s degree in Teacher Training for Pre-University Education (first-degree Italian)
• Certificate in teaching Italian to foreigners from the University of Perugia

Location

The lesson location is on Keizersgracht in Amsterdam. The school states that it is a five-minute walk from Central Station and within walking distance of Dam Square.

Practical information

For some courses, the price depends on the number of enrolments or is determined by agreement. Course fees must be paid in advance; refunds are only possible if the course does not go ahead.

• Annual course: 25 lessons of 1.5 hours, once a week
• State exam preparation: course duration 2 years
• Italian conversation: 10 lessons of 1 hour
• Combined course: 10 lessons of 1.5 hours
• Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 9.00 to 21.30
