About Counseling House

Counseling House provides psychosocial therapy in Amstelveen. The practice supports people with issues including anxiety, stress, burnout, grief, relationship problems, questions about identity, life changes and personal development.

The support is tailored to the client's needs and goals. The therapists can use different therapeutic approaches, depending on their training and the client's request for help.

Approach

Clients can start with a free introductory call or book a session directly. During an intake, the client and therapist discuss the situation, request for help and goals; they then decide together on the focus and next steps.

• First consultation and intake, 120 minutes
• Individual sessions, 60 minutes
• Extended sessions, 90 minutes
• First consultation for couples
• Couples sessions, 80 minutes

Therapeutic approaches

The therapists may work with cognitive behavioural therapy, ACT, transactional analysis and EMDR, among other approaches. They work within their professional competence; if a request for help falls outside their area of work, they discuss next steps or a referral.

About the founders

Counseling House was founded by Stefan Campher and Joachim Kaarsgaren. Both provide psychosocial counseling; Stefan is training to become a psychosocial therapist and Joachim is a psychosocial therapist.

Practical information

Appointments are available in Amstelveen and online when appropriate. Appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled without charge with sufficient notice; if less than 24 hours' notice is given or the client does not show up without notifying the practice, the full session fee may be charged.
