Wiskunst

About Wiskunst

Wiskunst provides secondary-school-level mathematics tutoring in Alkmaar, online and at the provider’s home. Individual and paired tutoring are available; intake meetings are free and carry no obligation.

Services

Wiskunst provides all forms of secondary-school-level mathematics tutoring. Lessons are scheduled weekly or every two weeks at a fixed time.

• Individual tutoring
• Paired tutoring
• Remote tutoring via Zoom

Approach

For individual tutoring, the provider first identifies where the student is getting stuck, then tailors the support accordingly. The provider also helps with planning the coursework.

• Reviewing foundational knowledge and building on it
• Diagrams, mind maps, planners, mnemonics and flashcards

Who it is for

Paired tutoring is for students who want to work on mathematics together and face the same difficulties. Individual tutoring is suitable, among others, for students who want to catch up or need repeated tutoring sessions.

• Students who find mathematics difficult
• Students looking for structure or help catching up
• Students who want to practise together

Intake and arrangements

There is an intake meeting of about half an hour beforehand. Tutoring sessions are scheduled by agreement, and invoices are issued after five or more hours have been completed.
