About Hond en Emoties

Hond en Emoties provides behaviour therapy and individual training for dogs. Behaviour consultations take place at the owner's home; private training can also take place on a fenced site in Langedijk or another suitable location.

Behaviour therapy

The support focuses on the causes and emotions behind behaviour. After a questionnaire, there is a consultation with a diagnosis, prognosis and advice; if desired, the owner receives a summary and a tailored treatment plan.

• Aggression towards other dogs, people or family members
• Fears and separation anxiety
• Possessive aggression
• Excessive barking
• Restless or hyperactive behaviour
• Self-mutilation
• Chasing traffic, cats, wildlife or birds
• Obsessive and compulsive behaviour
• Destructive behaviour and excessive licking
• Pulling on the lead
• Disobedience or not listening
• Eating things from the street
• Support for adopted dogs

Private training

A private lesson gives time and attention to the owner and dog. Training can take place at home, on the fenced site in Langedijk or at another suitable location.

• Individual training for, among other things, coming when called, outdoor distractions and interacting with dogs, people or traffic

Walking consultation and dog walking service

A walking consultation offers practical support in the area where the behaviour occurs. The individual dog walking service combines walking and training, with attention to the dog's specific needs.

• Walking consultation
• Individual walks
• Training/dog walking service

Approach

The support is tailored to the personal situation and the wellbeing of dog and person. No physical corrections, pain or force are used; medical specialists can be involved when needed.

• Practical advice and management techniques
• Aftercare; depending on the situation, two months of telephone aftercare is included with the consultation
• Additional support may include a walking consultation or private lesson
