Passieflora provides grief and loss support to children, young people and adults. Support can be in person, by phone or online.

Grief and loss support

Yvonne Stijns supports people through different types of loss, including death, the end of a relationship, loss of health, moving house and loss of perspective.

Support by age

For children, Yvonne uses play, drawing and stories and gives parents a brief update. Young people receive practical tools; with adults, the focus includes processing grief, low mood and concrete steps.

Approach

The process consists of a free introductory meeting, intake and setting goals, coaching sessions, evaluations and aftercare. Sessions can also be online; methods include POPtalk, coaching cards, the Feelings Explorer, Map of Grief and creative activities.

Practical information

An introductory meeting lasts 30 minutes. Intake and coaching sessions usually last 60 minutes. Children up to and including 15 years old can receive coaching only with written consent from both parents.
