Nova Chi is a shiatsu practice in Sittard. The practice offers shiatsu therapy, with treatments tailored to the client’s request for help and observations during the consultation.

Shiatsu therapy

Shiatsu is a body-oriented treatment method based on Traditional Chinese Medicine. The treatment involves applying pressure to specific points and areas, possibly supplemented with stretches and rotations, and is given over clothing.

Consultation and approach

The first consultation consists of an intake and assessment, after which the treatment is tailored to the request for help. Afterwards, they discuss how the treatment was experienced and whether follow-up is desirable.

• First consultation: approximately 60 to 75 minutes
• Follow-up consultation: approximately 50 to 60 minutes

Complaints

People come to the practice with a wide range of complaints. Shiatsu can provide support for pain, stiffness, stress, fatigue and sleep problems, among other things.

• Neck, shoulder and back complaints
• Joint and muscle complaints
• Stress, tension, restlessness and difficulty relaxing
• Sleep problems and fatigue
• Headaches and migraine
• Stomach, intestinal and digestive complaints
• Menstrual, PMS and menopausal complaints

Practical information

Treatments take place on a futon or, when needed or preferred, on a massage table. The practice works by appointment only. There is free parking around the square; the practice room is on the first floor and accessible by stairs.

About the therapist

Ingrid Luijpers-Delarue completed a three-year shiatsu therapist training course at ShuHaRi, part of the Academie voor Chinese Geneeswijze Qing-Bai. She also studied Western Medical Basic Knowledge and regularly takes further training courses.

Reimbursement and gift voucher

Many health insurers partially reimburse shiatsu therapy through supplementary insurance. A gift voucher can be ordered by phone or WhatsApp and collected by appointment at the practice.
