De Kreek-Premiumzorg GGZ is a small, specialised institution in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. It offers diagnostics and individual and group treatment for adults and young people.

Approach

The intake consists of several conversations about symptoms and the request for help, sometimes supplemented by psychological testing. A therapy type and treatment plan are then agreed together; relapse prevention is discussed at the end of treatment.

• Treatment can take place individually, in a group or with the system.
• An individual programme for adults consists of a maximum of 10 sessions.
• A partner or family members can be involved with consent.

Youth care

For children under 14, the first conversation is in principle with both parents. Treatment can take place individually, in a group or with the system.

• Young people aged 16 and over may legally attend alone.
• With consent, the practitioner can work with the school and the GGD doctor (Dutch municipal health service doctor).
• Treatment or assessment for children under 16 requires consent from both parents with parental authority.

Psychiatric care

The institution works with psychiatrists for consultation on medication treatment. Specialist treatment has limited availability for psychiatric assessment and starting and monitoring medication.

• Psychiatric care is aimed at (young) adults and older people aged 16 and over.

Locations and reimbursement

The institution operates in Oostburg, Terneuzen, Sas van Gent and Hulst. Adult care may be reimbursed under the Zorgverzekeringswet (Dutch Health Insurance Act); care for children and young people is reimbursed by their municipality of residence.
