Bureau Bloeiwijs is a small psychology practice in Meppel, specialising in assessments of children and young people who may be gifted. It offers psychological diagnostic assessments and practical advice on parenting, education and personal development.

Assessments are tailored to the support question and may include tests, questionnaires, conversations, play, drawings and observations. They aim to provide insight into how a child thinks, learns and functions.

Who it is for

Children and young people aged approximately 5 to 18 can be referred with questions about learning, behaviour or development and a suspected developmental advance or (high) giftedness. The assessment is intended for mild to moderate difficulties.

Approach

After an exploratory conversation and referral, the process continues with questionnaires, an intake and the assessment. It concludes with a detailed report of findings and practical advice.

For organisations

Bloeiwijs carries out psychological diagnostic assessments on behalf of schools and care institutions and supports organisations with practice-based scientific research.

About the practice

The practice is run by Dr Alma Akkerman, psychologist. Reliable, norm-referenced tests assessed by COTAN are used in the assessments.
