Praktijk Stap Verder is a practice providing remedial teaching, homework support and mediated learning in Leek and the surrounding area. The practice offers individual and group support, as well as support with appropriate education in the classroom.

Support

The practice offers support in education and care. Support can be provided for learning difficulties, emotional problems, ASS (autism spectrum disorder), a mild intellectual disability or a chronic illness.

Approach

After an initial free meeting, if support is chosen, a meeting is held with the pupil and other people involved. The programme may include an assessment, a plan, support and evaluation; after two weeks, there is a phone call to discuss progress.

Thinking and learning

When there are barriers to learning, the practice can work on thinking skills using Feuerstein worksheets. The duration depends on the support need and the child's ability to learn.

Practical information

Homework support is offered with a 5- or 10-visit pass, paid for in advance. If unable to attend, the practice asks you to cancel 24 hours in advance.
